Hotel Operations

One hotel, multiple operational areas depending on connectivity

Guests, front-desk teams, back-office staff, security systems and office devices serve different users and require different access controls, coverage, equipment and maintenance approaches. Separating these functions makes it easier to identify where troubleshooting should begin.

01

Guest & Public Areas

Guest rooms, lobbies, dining areas and other public spaces need reliable Wi-Fi coverage and a dedicated guest network. AP placement, capacity, cabling, switch uplinks and separation from internal systems also need to be considered.

02

Front Desk & Back-Office Operations

Front-desk, administrative, finance and back-office devices need stable connectivity, appropriate access permissions and day-to-day support. When email, printing, shared files or sign-in issues occur, troubleshooting should not stop at a single computer.

03

Security & Facilities

CCTV, access control, intercoms, attendance systems and other ELV equipment involve device locations, power, network segmentation, racks and cabling. During renovations or equipment upgrades, floor plans, conduits and the installation sequence should also be reviewed together.

04

Management & Data

Servers, NAS, backup, Microsoft 365, firewalls and network equipment need basic inventory, update and inspection records so management knows which systems support daily operations and who is responsible when faults occur.

Network segmentation

Separate guest, staff and security systems

Guest Wi-Fi, office devices, CCTV and infrastructure management have different users and access requirements. AlphGa can work with your existing equipment to plan functional network zones using firewall policies, managed switches, VLANs and guest Wi-Fi separation.

Guest network

Guest & Public Areas

Designed for guest internet access and separated from internal office, management and security systems. Login methods, bandwidth and administrative access can be configured to suit on-site requirements.

Staff and office

Front Desk & Staff Devices

For front-desk, administrative and other staff devices. VLANs and access permissions can be planned around departments, device types and management requirements.

Security devices

CCTV & Access Control

Keep cameras, NVRs, access-control systems and related equipment operating within a clearly defined network and power architecture, with compatibility checked against the brand, model and on-site systems.

Infrastructure

Infrastructure & Management Interfaces

Switches, APs, firewalls, servers, NAS, backup systems and management interfaces use controlled access and maintenance settings to reduce unnecessary connectivity between systems.

Network & Wi-Fi Infrastructure

Review the network infrastructure layer by layer, from APs and switches to firewalls and cabling

Network issues do not always originate from Wi-Fi. AP placement, switch capacity, VLANs, firewalls, cabling, uplinks, gateways and backup connectivity can all affect service across different areas.

01

Wi-Fi Coverage & APs

Review usage locations across rooms, corridors, public spaces and office areas, together with APs, existing cabling and network equipment.

02

Switches, VLANs & Firewalls

Configure managed switches, VLANs, guest Wi-Fi separation, firewall policies and any required backup connectivity.

03

Fibre & Structured Cabling

Review LAN, fibre, racks, power and conduits, and reserve the required locations for APs, cameras and access-control equipment before renovation work begins.

04

Testing & Handover

Formal project scope specifies equipment, device locations, installation work, test items and responsibilities. Agreed test results are documented on completion.

Managed IT support

Support the day-to-day use of hotel staff devices and office systems

Support can cover desktops and users, servers, NAS, backup, Microsoft 365, network troubleshooting, equipment inventory and IT health reporting. Service agreements specify support hours, remote/on-site service and contact methods.

Servers, NAS & BackupSystem status, backup checks and agreed data-related tasks
Microsoft 365Accounts, email and day-to-day office usage issues
Inventory & Health RecordsHardware, software, maintenance and contracted inspection items

Security & Physical Infrastructure

Plan security equipment, device locations, power and networking together

CCTV, access control, intercom, attendance systems, automatic doors and structured cabling all involve physical device locations, power and networking. Quotations specify the equipment, installation work and each party’s responsibilities.

CCTV

Cameras, NVRs, PoE & Network Segmentation

Plan cameras, NVRs, switches, PoE, cabling, racks and network segmentation, while checking equipment compatibility, video retention periods, image quality, privacy requirements and warranty conditions.

Access

Access Control, Intercoms & Control Equipment

Access control, intercoms, biometrics and attendance systems may involve networking, power, door hardware, controllers and third-party software. Hotel door locks and third-party systems can be checked for compatibility based on brand, model and interface information.

Renovation

Review device locations and installation sequencing before renovation

Review AP, camera, access-control, rack, power and conduit locations against floor plans to reduce the risk of discovering after completion that cabling must be rerun or equipment relocated.

Hardware & Software

Business Devices, Software Licensing & Third-Party Repair

Select business-grade devices based on actual use and the existing environment. For equipment that is out of warranty or no longer covered by the manufacturer, submit the brand, model and fault details so repair feasibility can be assessed.

Business Devices

Choose desktops, laptops, servers, network devices and peripherals based on the hotel’s operational needs and existing environment.

Software Licensing

Configure business software licensing around users, devices and management requirements. Product and licence combinations are specified in the quotation.

Third-Party Hardware Repair

For branded business equipment that is out of warranty or no longer covered by the manufacturer, one-off repair options can be assessed based on brand, model, parts availability and fault condition.
