Common Questions About Retaining Equipment & Site Surveys Before Planning
Do all existing switches, access points or servers have to be replaced?
Not necessarily. AlphGa will check model, age, warranty, capacity, administrative access, licensing and compatibility. Equipment that still meets capacity and support requirements can be retained or reconfigured; equipment that cannot be managed or is no longer supported will be listed with replacement recommendations.
Is an on-site survey always required before network planning?
When Wi-Fi coverage, cable routes, rack space or an office relocation is involved, an on-site survey is usually required. For preliminary budgeting, you can submit floor plans, equipment lists and photos of the current environment, and AlphGa will identify items that still need on-site measurement or verification.
Can the existing internet connection be retained?
Please provide the service provider, circuit plan, contract expiry date, and details of any fixed IP, VPN, telephony or other dependencies. AlphGa will check bandwidth, handoff ports and the requirements of the new architecture, then recommend whether to retain, upgrade or add a backup circuit.
