Why Choose the Ruijie RG-ES200 Series?
When choosing a switch, port count is only one basic specification. In real deployments, you also need to consider how easily network issues can be diagnosed, how conveniently PoE power can be managed, whether CCTV faults can be quickly located, and whether suitable models are available for outdoor environments.
The RG-ES200 series addresses four key deployment needs:
From Cloud Management to AI Management
With the Ruijie Reyee App / Ruijie Cloud, RG-ES200 brings Smart Protection, AI Diagnostics, IPC Recognition, and remote management into routine switch maintenance. For SMEs, CCTV systems, and multi-site networks, these features help prevent common faults earlier and accelerate troubleshooting.
Smart Protection and AI Diagnostics
IP Conflict Detection
Automatically detects common IP conflicts, helping reduce connection drops and network instability caused by duplicate IP addresses.
DHCP Snooping
Detects abnormal DHCP sources, reducing the risk of connection issues caused by devices receiving incorrect IP settings.
Loop Prevention
When a network loop occurs, RG-ES200 can activate automatic protection to reduce the risk of incorrect cabling affecting the entire network.
AI Diagnostics
AI-assisted diagnostics through Ruijie Cloud / Reyee App help narrow down faults involving cameras, connections, and device health more quickly.
Cloud Management Capabilities
IPC / NVR Recognition
Quickly identify IP cameras / NVRs on CCTV networks, helping engineers monitor device and connection status.
Mobile VLAN Configuration
Manage VLANs through the Ruijie Reyee App / Ruijie Cloud, simplifying network segmentation for CCTV, office, and guest Wi-Fi networks.
Remote Monitoring
View switch statistics, ports, and device status centrally with remote management support; selected models also allow certain PoE / port operations.
PoE Power Requires Continuity, Capacity, and Maintainability
Devices such as cameras, access points, and IP phones increasingly rely on PoE. When choosing a switch, check not only whether PoE is supported, but also the power standard per port, total PoE budget, power continuity, and troubleshooting capabilities.
PoE / PoE+ / PoE++
Match the Power Level to Device Requirements
Standard cameras, APs, and IP phones can use standard PoE / PoE+; higher-power devices can use selected models with PoE++ support, such as the RG-ES207GS-HP with a 120 W budget.
Total PoE Budget
Enough Ports Are Not Enough—Total Power Matters Too
Even if there are enough PoE ports, verify that the total PoE budget meets the power requirements of all devices and leaves headroom for future expansion.
Perpetual PoE
Maintain PoE Power During Switch Reboots
Selected models support Perpetual PoE, maintaining PoE power during a switch reboot, although network traffic may still be temporarily interrupted.
Find the Fault Faster When a Camera Goes Offline
With Ruijie Cloud, RG-ES200 provides a centralized view of camera, switch port, PoE, and cable status to help determine whether a fault can be handled remotely.
IPC / NVR Recognition
Identify Multi-Brand CCTV Devices
Supports identification of selected third-party IP cameras / NVRs, including Hikvision and Dahua.
Real-time Alarm / Cable Test
Receive Alerts and Test Network Cables
Review camera offline or power anomaly alerts, and use Cable Test to check network cable connections.
PoE Remote Reboot
Remotely Restart Cameras
After reviewing port and PoE status, you can attempt to remotely restart the camera; if service is not restored, arrange an on-site inspection.
Outdoor CCTV Deployment: Protection, Power, and Uplink Connectivity
Outdoor CCTV requires more than sufficient PoE. You also need to consider water and dust resistance, surge protection, operating temperature, on-site power availability, and uplink connectivity.
All-in-one Outdoor Switch
Integrate Outdoor Switch, PoE, Environmental Protection, and Uplink Connectivity
With one less weatherproof enclosure and fewer power accessories, on-site wiring becomes simpler. Outdoor CCTV installation requires less work, while future inspection and maintenance are more straightforward.

RG-ES200 FAQs
Dealing with camera disconnections, PoE power limits, or outdoor installation? Here are the most common questions when choosing RG-ES200.
Not necessarily. The issue may also come from PoE power, the switch port, network cabling, IP conflicts, DHCP, network loops, VLAN, NVR, or uplink. Using status and diagnostic data from RG-ES200 and Ruijie Cloud, you can narrow down the fault location before deciding what to inspect or replace.
RG-ES200 can automatically detect IP conflicts, abnormal DHCP sources, and network loops, while AI Diagnostics and Camera Troubleshooting help identify faults. If the issue comes from cabling, power, gateway, AP, NVR, camera, or ISP, engineers can continue troubleshooting based on the diagnostic results.
You can use Ruijie Cloud to check port status and use PoE Watchdog or Camera Troubleshooting for remote checks, so an immediate site visit may not be necessary. RG-ES207GS-P supports Perpetual PoE, maintaining PoE port power during switch reboots; network traffic may still be briefly interrupted during the reboot.
RG-ES207GS-AC-OD and RG-ES207GS-PI-OD both use IP65 outdoor enclosures. When installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions, a separate weatherproof enclosure for the switch itself is usually unnecessary; cable entries, connectors, grounding, and power components still require appropriate outdoor protection.
Consider the RG-ES207GS-PI-OD. It supports PoE In and 12 V DC input; provided the upstream device supplies sufficient PoE power, a single network cable can carry both data and power. With a suitable DC, battery, or solar power design, it can also be used in solar-powered deployments. The PoE budget is up to 60 W, depending on input power.
Start by listing the number of devices, each device’s PoE power consumption, the installation environment, and the available on-site power method. If you need fiber, SFP, ERPS, 2.5G / 10G uplinks, or future expansion, include those requirements as well. AlphGa can use this information to recommend a suitable model and deployment approach.
As long as the existing cameras’ network connections and PoE specifications are compatible with the selected switch, they can usually continue to be used. Ruijie Cloud can also identify cameras / NVRs from brands such as Hikvision and Dahua. If you want to use Camera Recognition or related management features, AlphGa can help verify the existing models and connection method.
